Homello ("Homello," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Homello mobile application and website at homello.org (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.
By creating an account or using Homello, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Information We Collect
Account information. When you register, we collect your name, email address, phone number, profile photo, and authentication credentials. You may sign in using email and password, Apple Sign In, or Google Sign In.
Profile and preferences. We collect information you provide in your profile, including search preferences (budget, property type, preferred locations), professional details for agents and service providers, license information, and pre-qualification data related to home buying or renting.
Property and transaction data. This includes saved properties, tour requests, offers, rental applications, inspection records, deal progress, documents you upload, and messages exchanged with agents, lenders, and other professionals through in-app chat.
Location data. With your permission, we collect location information to suggest nearby areas, improve property recommendations, and display listings on maps. You can control location permissions in your device settings.
Device and usage data. We automatically collect device type, operating system, app version, IP address, push notification tokens, and information about how you interact with the Service (such as features used and session activity).
Photos and media. With your permission, we access your camera and photo library so you can upload profile images, property photos, chat attachments, and documents.
Payment information. If you add payment methods, we collect billing details necessary to process transactions. Payment card data is handled by secure third-party payment processors; we do not store full card numbers on our servers.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Homello platform
- Personalize property search results and recommendations
- Connect buyers, renters, agents, lenders, and contractors
- Facilitate tours, offers, pre-qualification, and transaction workflows
- Enable real-time messaging and notifications about your deals
- Verify professional credentials and improve trust and safety
- Respond to support requests and communicate service updates
- Monitor usage, diagnose issues, and improve app performance
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service
3. How We Share Your Information
With other users. When you interact on Homello, relevant profile and transaction information may be shared with agents, lenders, contractors, or other parties involved in your home search or deal, as necessary to complete the service you request.
With service providers. We work with trusted third parties who help us operate the Service, including cloud hosting, analytics, email delivery, payment processing, mapping services (such as Google Maps), and authentication providers (Apple and Google).
For legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Homello, our users, or others.
Business transfers. If Homello is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.
4. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request account deletion, after which we will delete or anonymize your data within a reasonable period, subject to legal retention requirements.

Homello is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
8. International Users
Homello is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes may be communicated through the app or by email. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
